'Prairie Rag' is a clarinet & piano piece, written to invoke
thoughts of the Wild West in America in the late 1880's.
The themes in this work are rich and cheerful, designed to be
performed in a jovial manner, capturing the polka-like ragtime'esque
nature of the period.
The piano part is reminiscent of the old saloon bar pianolas
of the Wild West, whereas the clarinet depicts the rolling wagons
that regularly dotted the frontier, as the colonials ventured
